Law, Justice, Health and Human Services Committee
The Council's Law, Justice, Health and Human Services Committee considers and makes recommendations on policies relating to:
- Public safety, including adult detention, juvenile justice and youth services, Superior and District Courts, judicial administration, prosecuting attorney, public defense, and emergency medical services;
- Emergency management, including disaster response, emergency preparedness, and emergency planning;
- Public health, including policies related to Public Health - Seattle & King County, structure of public health centers, and jail health services; and
- Human services, including implementation of the Mental Illness and Drug Dependency Action Plan and the Veterans and Human Services Levy, therapeutic and low-income housing, domestic violence and sexual assault survivor services.
