Proposed Transit Cuts

Due to a funding shortfall, King County must cut 550,000 annual hours of Metro bus service. The County Executive has sent the Council a proposal for phasing in the cuts between Sept. 2014 and Sept. 2015. The current plan would eliminate 72 bus routes and reduce or revise another 84 routes.

The Council's Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee will be holding evening meetings for the public to learn more about the implementation plan, speak to Metro staff about the proposed cuts and route changes, and discuss the legislation with committee members.
