Remember to give all of your clothes, shoes, and linens. Even items that are ripped, torn, have holes are acceptable! Even single shoes, socks, gloves, and other items that are normally paired-up can be matched with other “singles” and worn by people who otherwise would not have those items to wear. The only clothes, shoes, and linens you should NOT donate are items that are wet, mildewed, or contaminated with hazardous material.

The following items can be dropped off at many drop box, thrift store, and other locations:

Don’t put it in the curbside recycling carts

Clothes, shoes, and linens do NOT go into local curbside recycling carts. These items can jam up machinery in recycling facilities. The exceptions to this are Bellevue  external link , Bothell  external link , Burien  external link , Carnation  external link , Issaquah  external link , Maple Valley  external link , and SeaTac  external link (external links), which have special programs that take clothing at curbside, following specific guidelines – if you live in one of these cities, please make sure to consult their website for recycling guidelines.
