Apprenticeships

Recent studies forecast a shortage of skilled workers in the construction industry. In response, selected King County public works projects require contractors to hire minorities, women, persons with disabilities, and economically disadvantaged youth as apprentices.

Equal Benefits

Contractors doing business with King County must provide benefits to their employees' domestic partners that are equivalent to benefits offered to spouses of employees.

Living Wages

Contractors doing business with King County must pay their employees a Living Wage according to a schedule set by the County Council.
