About BOH meetings
All regular and special meetings of the Board and Board committee meetings shall be open to the public, in accordance with RCW 42.30. The Board may order the removal of individuals who are interrupting the meetings and may adjourn and reconvene in another location as provided in RCW 42.30.050.
The King County Board of Health meets at 1:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month unless otherwise noted. Meetings are held in the King County Council Chambers unless otherwise noted on monthly meeting agendas.

Notice of the agenda for each regular meeting is also communicated prior to the meeting via press release to the electronic and print media throughout King County.
How to get an item on the agenda
The Board is interested in any issues that can influence and improve the health of King County residents. If you are interested in bringing a health related topic to the Board's attention, please use our online form.
At each meeting, according to the usual order of business, the Chair shall call for general comments and invite persons wishing to testify before the Board to come forward. Persons wishing to testify before the Board are required to register on the sign in sheets provided on the day of the meeting.
Persons testifying before the Board shall state their name for the record. The Chair may establish time limits for individuals who wish to speak. The Board may allow additional time for the submission of written testimony.
Public Hearings on proposed regulations are generally held during the monthly Board of Health meetings and are noted as such on the meeting agenda. If you wish to submit written testimony please note the following:
Written testimony is accepted if received by 5:00 PM on the Monday prior to the day of the public hearing, or later, if the public comment period is extended by the Board at the following street address or via email at:

Board members, public health officials or interested persons may initiate rulemaking by submitting proposals or recommendations for establishing, amending or repealing rules or regulations to the Director of Health who shall be responsible for preparing them for Board consideration.
Notification regarding public hearings on proposed rules and regulations is available at least two weeks in advance of the public hearing. The information is also available on the Board of Health Web site. To receive notice of proposed rule or regulation as well as other BOH announcements including meeting agendas, please subscribe to the free BOH email alert system.
Notices of all public hearings are also published in the Seattle Times Classifieds section under legal notices at least 14 days in advance of the public hearing date. At public hearings convened pursuant to the Board's rulemaking procedures (Title 2 of the Code of the King County Board of Health,) the Board shall take oral or written testimony at the time and place of the hearing. (In order to ensure copies of written comments are available to Board members and meeting attendees, written testimony should be submitted to the Board Administrator the Monday prior the scheduled meeting.)
