King County’s solid waste transfer facilities to close at 3:30 p.m.

King County's solid waste transfer facilities will close at 3:30 p.m. today due to continuing severe winter weather conditions. Weather permitting, facilities are scheduled to reopen with regular Monday hours, Dec. 22.

The Factoria Transfer Station in Bellevue, Houghton Solid Waste Transfer Station in Kirkland, and Cedar Falls Drop Box in Maple Valley are already closed.

Before heading out on the road, customers should check King County's transfer station hours on a continually updated Solid Waste Division Web site located at http://your.kingcounty.gov/solidwaste/facilities/transfer.asp.
