“Her work has helped Harborview Medical Center remain a national model for public health efforts, and I am grateful for her service.”

The Metropolitan King County Council gave its unanimous approval to the reappointment of Lisa Jensen to the Harborview Board of Trustees as the member representing the Ninth District.

First appointed in 2008, Jensen was nominated to another term on the Board by Council Vice Chair Reagan Dunn. She was reappointed at the Council’s March 6 meeting.

“Lisa Jensen has served residents very well, and I am glad to support her reappointment,” said Dunn. “Her work has helped Harborview Medical Center remain a national model for public health efforts, and I am grateful for her service.”

“King County and UW Medicine have worked together to make Harborview a world class public hospital,” said Jensen. “It has been a privilege to serve on the board, seeing first-hand the dedication and quality of individuals involved in providing high quality primary, acute and specialty care to patients from all walks of life. I am honored to continue for another term, and to serve as Board President this year.”

Jensen, who has served on the Newcastle City Council, is a principal of Jensen Companies, Inc., a company providing technical training to contractors and online marketing support to businesses and non-profit organizations. Her experience includes many years with Lawson Software, consulting and managing sales support for Healthcare clients, and several years as an Industrial Engineer in the aerospace industry, focused on improving efficiencies in manufacturing processes. She holds a B.A. in Business from the University of Washington.

“Lisa Jensen is an invaluable member of the Harborview Board and has played an essential role in our work to provide compassionate, leading-edge healthcare for the most vulnerable residents of King County,” said Dr. Paul Ramsey, CEO, UW Medicine. “We look forward to continuing to work with Lisa during her next term on the board.”

Harborview Medical Center is owned by King County, governed by a county-appointed board of trustees and managed by the University of Washington. UW Medicine physicians, staff and other healthcare professionals based at Harborview serve patients from all walks of life in world-class centers of emphasis and also serve a mission population for King County.

Members of the Harborview Board of Trustees act as the representative authority of the county, overseeing the provision of health-care services in order to assure that high quality health care is made available to county residents. The members of the Board serve four year terms.
