Councilmember Reagan Dunn was reappointed vice chair of the King County Council and was selected in other committee leadership roles for 2020.
As the Metropolitan King County Council enters a new legislative session, Councilmember Reagan Dunn will again serve as Vice Chair of the Council. Dunn was appointed Wednesday for his fifth consecutive term by a unanimous vote of the Council.
“It is a distinct honor and responsibility to serve on the Council’s leadership team, and I’m grateful to my colleagues for their continued faith in me,” Dunn said. “In addition my role as Vice Chair, I’m excited to serve on committees that work on some of the critical issues in our region — including criminal justice, affordable housing, wastewater treatment, and rural and unincorporated services.”
Dunn is joined on the leadership team by Councilmember Claudia Balducci, who will serve as Council Chair, and Councilmember Joe McDermott, who will serve as the second Vice Chair. The Chair and Vice-Chairs work together to set the agendas for meetings of the Council and Committee of the Whole and coordinate the referral and scheduling of legislation.
Dunn will also serve as Chair of the Local Services, Regional Roads and Bridges Committee, which considers legislation on localized issues such as water management, zoning, and roads in unincorporated areas, and as Vice Chair of the Committee of the Whole, which considers issues of interest to the entire Council.
In addition to these leadership positions, Dunn will serve on the Law and Justice Committee; Community, Health, and Housing Services Committee; Employment and Administration Committee; and Regional Water Quality Committee. His appointments are part of the reorganization of the County Council for 2020.
