Judge Arthur Chapman
Judge Arthur Chapman was first elected to the King County District Court (KCDC) bench in 2002. He has served as the presiding judge of the court’s West Division, and been a member of the court's executive committee. His duties have included criminal and civil matters, including six years presiding over the King County Regional Mental Health Court, and numerous inquest hearings. He currently is assigned to the KCDC Seattle location at the King County Courthouse.
Earning his J.D. from the Seattle University School of Law, Judge Chapman graduated law school with honors and joined the bar in 1983. His resume includes five years as a criminal prosecutor, nine years in civil practice and two years as a federal law clerk.
