Judge Donna Tucker
Judge Donna Tucker currently serves as chief presiding judge for King County District Court (KCDC) – elected by her fellow judges for a second term in the role beginning in 2019. As chief presiding judge, Judge Tucker is committed to upholding and promoting the independence, integrity and impartiality of the court system. She also strives to set a high standard of conduct for everyone working in or for the courts, including patience, dignity and courteousness for all parties. Judge Tucker’s previous leadership roles at KCDC include serving as assistant presiding judge.
First elected to King County District Court in 2010, Judge Tucker has presided over a wide range of criminal and civil cases. A resident of east King County for more than 45 years, she owned a business for 17 years before her election, providing public defense services in Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Issaquah, Woodinville and Bothell.
Judge Tucker earned a B.A. degree from Seattle Pacific University, and a J.D., cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law. She is active in the community, including having been a volunteer youth and adult softball coach.
