I. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Chandler Felt convened the meeting at 5:45 P.M.
II. ROLL CALL
The following members were present:
- Robert Cook

Other attendees: Board Counsel Robert C. Kaufman, Shelby Miklethun, Lenora Blauman, Member of the Public
III. MINUTES
Regular Meeting – November 10, 2022
Chair Felt suggested that as the draft minutes were only provided to members on December 7, 2022, that the Board consider these minutes at its January 2023 meeting.
Action: Mary Lynne Evans moved and Bob Cook seconded the motion to postpone the consideration of the minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 10, 2022 to the January 12, 2023 Regular Meeting.
Board members voted seven in favor of postponing the consideration of the of the minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 10, 2022 to the January 12, 2023 Regular Meeting.
IV. ADMINISTRATION PART I
A. Chair's Report
Chair Felt provided a recap of the many accomplishments of the Board in 2022. Highlights of that summary included: Lenora Blauman’s retirement and retirement celebration, the hiring and onboarding of Shelby Miklethun, the sad passing of Van Anderson, informative guest speakers at meetings, eight NOIs, multiple meetings and large projects for several committees, the WSABRB Conference and Cheryl Scheuerman joining the Board.
Chair Felt also reported that the State Legislature will have hybrid committee meetings in the upcoming session.
V. NEW MEMBER
Acting Nominating Committee Chair Jay Hamlin introduced Cheryl Scheuerman and led the Board in welcoming her. Ms. Scheuerman shared her excitement in joining the Board and recapped some of her professional experience working with the Board in her prior roles before her retirement. Ms. Scheuerman then recited the Board’s Oath of Office.*
VI. 2023 MEETING STRUCTURE DISCUSSION
Ms. Miklethun shared written information regarding meeting structure options that the members could consider for when the King County Executive rescinds his COVID-19 emergency order. She then reported that it was her understanding that such an action would likely not happen until after the winter respiratory illness season was over. The members discussed several options such as meetings at rotating fire stations.
VII. 2023 COMMITTEE MEMBER DISCUSSION
Chair Felt asked members to review the list of committee assignments as there are several vacancies that need filling. He and the members decided to postpone additional conversation and committee assignment decisions to the Board’s January 12, 2023 Regular Meeting.

IX. ADJOURNMENT
Chair Felt adjourned the Regular Meeting at 6:09 P.M.
