Before we get too far into 2018, I’d like us to pause for a moment and reflect on what a ride 2017 was for the Department of Natural Resources and Parks, and celebrate our impressive accomplishments. There are so many ways that we positively influence our residents’ quality of life: By providing regional parks and trails, protecting the region’s water, air, land, natural habitats and historic properties, and reducing, safely disposing of and creating resources from wastewater and solid waste. That’s why I believe it is important that we celebrate all our accomplishments big and small, because doing so only fosters more good things to come.

Take a look at some of our more notable achievements, although it is just a small sampling of our department’s wide range of work.

I’m tremendously proud of this department and its employees, and I hope you are equally proud of yourselves. Wishing you a full year of happiness and success in 2018,

Christie True
DNRP Director
