Register now for youth summer day camps at Brightwater Center


Registration is open for youth summer day camps taking place this July and August at King County’s Brightwater Center. Programs led by IslandWood and Friends of the Hidden River will take fun and learning outdoors, immersing campers entering grades 1-9 in nature, art and science.


Combine summer fun with learning and adventure at Brightwater Center’s youth summer camp programs this July and August.

King County has partnered with the nonprofit organizations IslandWood and Friends of the Hidden River to offer science-focused programs for campers entering grades 1-9, as well as youth mentoring opportunities.

With over 70 acres of natural area and three miles of trails, Brightwater’s creeks and forests are home to wildlife where campers will learn to observe nature, create art projects and enjoy hours of fun on the trail and in the lab.

King County’s Brightwater Center is located at 22505 State Route 9 S.E. in Woodinville.

The 2016 Brightwater Summer camp programs include:

  • The IslandWood Summer Day Camps at Brightwater Center

    Offering day programs for campers entering grades 1-9 featuring engaging nature exploration and scientific investigation. Camps begin on July 5 and programs run each week through Aug. 12. Each camp runs a full-day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Read detailed camp descriptions and register here (link removed).


  • Friends of the Hidden River's Ground to Sound STEM Summer Camp

Programs will immerse campers in grades 5-7 in exciting field investigations and laboratory experiments, combining creativity and art with technology. Camp runs from June 27-July 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Get detailed information and camp registration information here.


The Ground to Sound STEM Summer Camp at Brightwater is also looking for interns (high school juniors/seniors or recent graduates) and mentors (grades 8-11) to help with camp programs. Find out more by visiting their website (link removed).
