National Waste Prevention Coalition

King County helps coordinate the National Waste Prevention Coalition. This informal networking organization works specifically to advance waste prevention, which means reusing and reducing. It does not generally include recycling.

The National Waste Prevention Coalition was founded in 1994 and has conducted a number of projects over the years on junk mail, unwanted phone books, toxics reduction and other issues. Its supporters are primarily people in the solid waste management field, working for local governments, state governments, non-profit organizations, universities, consultants and others.

For more information on the Coalition's activities, please contact Tom Watson.
