King County Elections today mailed ballots for the April 24 special election.
King County Elections today mailed ballots to about 112,000 registered voters for the April 24 special election. The department estimates a 32 percent voter turnout rate.
This special election consists of propositions from 4 districts: the City of Kent, Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, King County Fire Protection District No. 45 and Tahoma School District No. 409.
“This month, approximately 112,000 King County voters will make decisions on local issues impacting our daily lives,” said Julie Wise, Director of King County Elections. “So if there is something on the ballot in your jurisdiction, be sure to vote by April 24 and have your say.”
Ballots can be returned without a stamp to any of the 13 ballot drop boxes open this election by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Or voters can return their ballot through the Postal Service with one first class stamp. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by April 24.
King County citizens not currently registered to vote in Washington can register in person through Monday, April 16. Registration is available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the at the King County Elections office in Renton and from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Elections Annex downtown.
Voters who don’t receive a ballot by April 9 or who have questions should call King County Elections at 206-296-VOTE (8683).
