Get alerts about roads in unincorporated King County
King County Road Alert is an email and text alert service for travelers on roads in unincorporated King County.
Subscribers get emails and text messages about unincorporated King County road construction projects, significant weather-related road closures and natural disasters. You can receive all alerts or just messages for roads in specific zones.
Short-term road closures related to traffic collisions or downed powerlines are not reported on Road Alert or the My Commute Map as those closures are managed by outside agencies. During normal working hours, King County will attempt to tweet or retweet closure information of this type on our Twitter account at https://twitter.com/kcroads.
Sign up for Road Alerts
Visit the Manage Your Subscriptions page and enter your contact information. Check the Subscriptions Zones Map to see the different alert zones.
Manage your subscription or unsubscribe
Visit the Manage Your Subscriptions page, select your subscription type (email or text), enter your email address or wireless number, and click the "confirm" button. If you used a password with your account you will be prompted to enter it. You should then see the alerts you have signed up for and can make changes or unsubscribe.Subscription Zones Map

What is King County Road Alert?
King County Road Alert is a web-based email and text message subscription service designed to notify residents about upcoming unincorporated King County road construction projects and road closures or hazardous travel conditions in the unincorporated areas of the county.The travel advisories provided by Road Alert are incorporated into the county's My Commute Map.

How do I update my subscription or unsubscribe?
Visit GovDelivery, the county's email alert service provider, to create an account and update your subscription. If you're having trouble, please contact maint.roads@kingcounty.gov and be sure to include the name and e-mail address or phone number used with the subscription. -
Who should I contact about incorrect information in messages?
Call the 24/7 King County Road Helpline at 206-477-8100 or e-mail maint.roads@kingcounty.gov. -
Does this service include information about traffic crashes, congestion or other short-term incidents?
No. These messages are about planned closures and restrictions, and unplanned closures and restrictions due to weather, natural disasters and emergency repairs. -
