SeaTac Police Arrest Federal Fugitive at Local Motel
Thanks to tips from the public and a ruse by the SeaTac Police department, Federal fugitive, Edward Porta, is back behind bars after over 8 years on the run. Porta had escaped from a Federal penitentiary in Virginia, in 2008 before being arrested by SeaTac Deputies on May 25, 2016.
Training Event On and Over Puget Sound May 25th
If you see some strange activity involving helicopters, boats and a Water Taxi tomorrow don’t fret; it’s a large scale training drill hosted by the King County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Section. The multi-agency drill will be conducted in Puget Sound between Harbor Island and Discovery Park from 4pm until 11pm.
Abduction Attempt Scare in Covington A Misunderstanding
An early morning case of mistaken identity between a taxi driver and two juveniles on their way to school had King County Sheriff Deputies on high alert and investigating a possible attempted abduction. After a lot of good work in a quick amount of time, it turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.
Arrest Made in Fairwood Shooting
A 20yoa Maple Valley man has been booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault 1 after he turned himself in to King County Sheriff’s Detectives for a shooting that occurred in the Fairwood area of Renton on May 16th, 2016. The victim, a 21yoa, Kent resident, was shot one time in the arm.
17 YOA MALE SHOT IN BURIEN
Detectives are investigating what lead to a 17yoa male being shot in the chest early Thursday morning near an apartment complex in Burien. The victim was rushed to Harborview Hospital by medics for emergency surgery.
2Juveniles Arrested After Police Standoff in Shoreline
Two juveniles suspected in the theft of a gun from a store in Lynwood as well as multiple robberies in the City of Shoreline have been arrested after a 2.5 hour standoff with police ends peacefully.
09 Detectives Seeking Publics Help in Death Investigation
A deceased, 58yoa man, was found at a King County area recycling center. King County Sheriff Detectives are seeking the public's help in the investigation. No foul play is suspected in the death, but Detectives would like help determining where the man had been staying prior to his death.
09 Sergeant Shoots Man Coming at him With a Knife
A King County Sheriff Sergeant Shot a man that was coming at him holding a knife. The Sergeant was in the area of SW 100 / 15th Ave SW after responding to a 911 call about a group of people involved in a knife fight. The Sergeant order the man to drop the knife multiple times but the man continued advancing toward the Sergeant. The Sergeant fired twice, hitting the suspect both times in the stomach. The man was in transported to Harborview in critical condition

05 17 Year Old Male Arrested for Shooting Death of 17 Year Old Female
A 17yoa B/M is under arrest and has been booked into the Youth Services Center for investigation of Murder in the shooting death of a 17yoa B/F. The incident occurred just before 11pm on May 4th, 2016 in Burien, Washington.
05 Shoreline homeowner shoots burglary suspect
A 41 year old Shoreline man was shot in the leg by a homeowner, also in Shoreline, after he kicked in a door and broke out some windows while trying to break into a house. The suspect will be charged with Burglary. No charges against the homeowner.
01 Fatal Hit And Run in White Center
A 63 YOA Native American Male was struck and killed while crossing the street in a crosswalk while in a wheel chair. A 51 YOA HM returned to the scene 4 hours later to turn himself in.
04 Deputy Involved Shooting in Burien
(Burien, King County WA) (C16022465) A 39yoa Burien Man was shot and killed by a King County Sheriff Deputy after he pointed a rifle at Deputies at the end of a pursuit. Deputies were in the area investigating multiple reports of shots being fired when this incident began.
300lbs Rx Drugs Turned in for disposal
(King County Washington) The King County Sheriff’s Office and several of its contract city partners participated in a special Rx drug take back event sponsored by the DEA. During this special, four hour event, Deputies collected and disposed of approximately 300lbs of prescription drugs with the cooperation of the DEA.
