The King County Sheriff’s Office and 17 other local law enforcement agencies in King County participated in a DUI Emphasis last weekend. During the emphasis 399 vehicles were stopped and 30 DUI arrests were made.
The King County Sheriff’s Office and 17 other local law enforcement agencies participated in a DUI emphasis last Friday and Saturday in King County. Over 50 extra officers patrolled cities and unincorporated areas in King County looking for drunk drivers.
During the emphasis officers conducted 399 traffic stops, made 30 DUI arrests, issued 144 infractions, and made 12 warrant arrests, 6 of which were DUI warrants.
Agencies participating include, the King County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, Washington State Liquor Control Board and police officers from city police departments including; Bellevue, Black Diamond, Burien, Covington, Enumclaw, Federal Way, Kent, Maple Valley, Muckleshoot, Port of Seattle, Redmond, SeaTac, Seattle, and Shoreline.
Funds for the emphasis were provided by the King County Council and Washington Traffic Safety Commission Target Zero program.
