What employers can do to support commuting by ferry:

• Help employees plan routes that use the Washington State Ferry or the King County Water Taxi
• Offer employees some flexibility in start and quit times
• Help employees make the connection between the ferry terminal and work (or home) by providing a VanShare or information on bus routes.
• Allow employees to use pre-tax income to purchase ferry passes
• Provide full or partial subsidy for cost of monthly or annual ferry pass
• Where there is a charge for parking, allow employees who commute by ferry to drive and park for free one or two days each month for personal appointments
• Provide on-site amenities such as lunch facilities and postal services
