By empowering all employees to report incidents, educate themselves and to support their co–workers, we can cultivate a culture of respect, safety and accountability at Metro.

All Metro employees are expected to report discrimination, harassment or retaliation.

How to report

If you believe you have been the subject of inappropriate, discriminatory or harassing conduct based on a protected status–or have been subjected to retaliation for reporting such conduct–please report the conduct verbally or in writing to one of the following:

Safety at work

Metro Transit employees are to report vehicle accidents, security incidents or any unsafe events through the Security and Safety Management System (SSaM). (On–site or VPN required.)

The Way We Work Together: Metro’s training on Non–Discrimination, Anti–Harassment & Inappropriate Conduct

Designed specifically for Metro employees, participants will learn new tools, resources, and skills for building an inclusive, safe, and respectful work environment. The training also provides information about employee expectations and resources related to King County’s Nondiscrimination, Anti–Harassment & Inappropriate Conduct Policy & Reporting Procedures (PDF). There are two versions, a supervisor course for people leaders and an employee course for non-supervisors. The Way We Work Together: Live Employee Course for non–supervisors (2.5 hours)

The is live virtual course designed for Metro employees who are individual contributors (e.g., non–supervisors). The course will acquaint Metro employees with King County’s policies on prohibiting discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and inappropriate conduct. It will focus on identifying the differences between healthy and toxic workplace cultures and explore strategies for intervening as a peer when inappropriate behavior arises in the workplace.

On-demand eLearning course now available

Metro employees who are unable to take a live version of the Employee Course for non-supervisors, can now take a pre-recorded eLearning version to satisfy their requirements. This is a self-paced course that covers all the same content as the live sessions. You can register for the eLearning by clicking here. This course is for non-supervisors only.

The Way We Work Together: Supervisor Course (4 hours)

This course explores how to intervene as a supervisor/manager when inappropriate behavior arises in the workplace and covers strategies on how to promote a healthy workplace culture on your teams.

Request an in–person training for employees not assigned computers

We are committed to accessibility and will be offering in–person courses for operations divisions and/or sections where the majority of the workforce are not assigned a computer. If you are a leader within Bus Operations, Rail, Vehicle Maintenance, Transit Facilities, Marine, or Mobility, and would like to request an in–person training of The Way We Work Together, please email our team directly at metrolearning@kingcounty.gov with your request.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free county resource that provides county employees with counseling and coaching for work related concerns and problems. To make an appointment, call 206-263-8733, or for more information email HRDEAP@kingcounty.gov.

Making Life Easier provides free services for personal counseling, legal and financial services, childcare services and adult and elder care services. Access the online portal with the Username: King County or call 1-888-874-7290.
