Metro’s new Rider Dashboard, also known as “The Dash”, provides customers, communities, and partners with up-to-date answers to frequently asked questions about transit. The Dash displays data on ridership, mask use, trips that exceed passenger capacity limits and bus stop pass-ups.

Link Connections: Metro seeks feedback on future bus and Link light rail integration in north King County
King County Metro is seeking a final round of public feedback on concepts for updating bus service to integrate with three new Sound Transit Link Light rail stations in 2021. These concepts were developed with the help of a community-based Mobility Board and were informed by broader public feedback on service needs and priorities.

King County Metro is 'Ready When You Are' with new safety innovations and route changes
King County Executive Dow Constantine today announced Metro is rolling out more than 1,400 first-of-their-kind automated safety partitions between passengers and the driver, to be installed on Metro buses, including Sound Transit Express buses operated by Metro. Metro also will equip over 100 buses with on-board dispensers to provide masks on the busiest routes.

Metro announces temporary service reductions starting Monday, March 23
Metro will temporarily move to a Reduced Schedule starting Monday, March 23. This shift comes two days after Metro’s pre-scheduled spring service change goes into effect on Saturday, March 21, which will bring Eastside riders better bus connections and improved access to Seattle via Link light rail.

Two weeks away: Buses shift to smoother, more reliable trip when Columbia Street reopens on 2/22
For 26,000 daily bus riders on 12 routes, the Seattle Squeeze is about to get a little easier with the reopening of Columbia Street from Alaskan Way to Third Avenue on Feb. 22. King County Metro shifts bus service to a long-planned, smoother and more reliable transit pathway with bus lanes and key traffic changes designed and supported by the City of Seattle. The new corridor will have connections between Metro buses, Water Taxi, and Washington State Ferries.

Executive Constantine announces purchase of up to 120 battery-electric buses from New Flyer of America, Inc.
King County Metro announces agreement to purchase 40 battery-electric buses and plans to purchase 80 more from New Flyer of America, Inc. in the coming year for a total estimated cost of $130 million. This fleet order is Metro’s first big step in responding to the climate crisis in accordance with the county’s Strategic Climate Action Plan.
