King County Executive Dow Constantine today issued the following tribute to Herb Bridge.
Our community lost a towering civic leader with the passing of Herb Bridge.
His leadership, vision, and enthusiasm helped shape the vibrant, thriving downtown Seattle we enjoy today. He showed that contributing to the well-being and prosperity of his neighbors was good for business, that a more inclusive economy is a stronger economy.
Herb did more than simply call for action – he demonstrated leadership through his own actions, which positioned our region for the remarkable prosperity we are experiencing today. And on top of all that, he bravely served his country during the Second World War and raised a family that proudly continues his legacy of community service.
