Court fraud examples

People are reporting many examples of court-related scams. Examples include:

  • Calls from scammers that spoof King County District Court phone numbers
  • Text or email messages that say you must appear in court the next day for unpaid vehicle toll violations, speeding, or other violations
    • These often include a link or a QR code to “Pay Now” or your driver’s license will be cancelled - Do not click links or scan QR codes in unknown messages
  • Fake hearing notices that appear to be from the Court, but are scams.

What to do if you suspect court fraud
