Notice of public hearing
Notice is hereby given that King County, Washington (the “County”) will hold an open public hearing for the purpose of hearing comments from the public regarding the issuance by the County of one or more series of tax-exempt obligations, which may include commercial paper or refinancing obligations (the “Bonds”), to finance capital improvements and equipment for the benefit of the County.
The public hearing will be held on November 1, 2023, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific time or as soon thereafter as possible, by conference call. The toll free number to attend the public hearing is 1-888-909-7654. The participant passcode is 603446#.
The County may designate all or a portion of the Bonds as “qualified 501(c)(3) bonds” under Section 145 the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”). Proceeds will be used to finance improvements and equipment (the “Projects”) for Harborview Medical Center and related buildings on the medical campus bounded by Interstate 5, James Street, Broadway, and Alder Street in Seattle, Washington. The Projects are expected to be owned by the County and primarily managed by UW Medicine. The maximum principal amount of Bonds expected to be issued for the Projects within the next three years is $900 million (in one or more series).
