NOTICE OF ADOPTION
Ordinance 19691
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan King County Council (the Council) held a public hearing on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 beginning at 1:30 PM to consider adoption of Proposed Ordinance 2023-0267 (Ordinance 19691), an ordinance adopting regulations for a regional motor sports facility. The Council adopted this Ordinance at the Tuesday, November 14, 2023, meeting.
SUMMARY:
The Proposed Ordinance changes the approval process and activities allowed under an interim use permit for a Regional Motor Sports Facility as defined in King County Code Title 21A.
The Proposed Ordinance:
- Allows for construction of additional impervious surface and grandstands, and replacement of existing grandstands, under an interim use permit (IUP).
- Changes the allowed time for establishment of the uses or activities authorized by an IUP or subsequent modification from five years with the option for five annual extensions to ten years with the option for five annual extensions.
- Removes a requirement that the IUP contain a condition requiring all grading and construction activities to be completed within 60 months of February 27, 2016.
- Stipulates that, upon IUP issuance (and one has been issued), any subsequent modifications to the IUP would be processed as a Type 1 land use decision (i.e., an administrative approval).
