The Metropolitan King County Council today recognized the girls of Seattle Christian School, who had to go to Yakima—and into overtime—to win their first 1A Girls High School Basketball Championship. <br><br>“The Warriors were true to their nickname, winning their state title by putting together two heart-stopping wins in two days,” said Councilmember <a href="/sitecore/service/pagenotfound.aspx?item=web%3a%7b0E8D759C-8A6A-4EB9-84A7-77F073993D5F%7d%40en">Julia Patterson</a>, who represents the city of SeaTac, home of the new state champs. <br><br>Coach Bob Kickner’s squad was the top-ranked team in their classification going into the 2009 tourney, but had to mount a furious comeback against Granger High in the championship game to overcome an 11-point halftime deficit.
