“I want to thank Kurt Triplett for stepping in as interim County Executive to ensure the continued orderly operation of County government.

“The Council next week will begin its process of naming a County Executive to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Ron Sims. This appointee will serve until certification of the November general election. Our goal is to have that individual in place after a quick but thorough interview process.

“The Council will work with Mr. Triplett and his executive staff to make this transition between officeholders as smooth and seamless as possible.”
