The Metropolitan King County Council will host the members of Team Seattle Racing and its partner in the fabled 24 hours of Daytona Road Race: Actor Patrick Dempsey, better known as Dr. Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd on the medical drama Grey's Anatomy.

When not on the set, Dempsey is a race car driver and the owner of a team that is part of the IndyCar series. The Council will recognize the partnership between Team Seattle and Dempsey’s Patrick Dempsey Racing that raised $400,000 in funds for the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Seattle Children’s Hospital during the 2010 Rolex 24 at Daytona sports car race.
