Council Response to Charlottesville

Summary

There is no place for bigotry, racism, neo-Nazis, and white supremacists in our county and our nation

Story

The disgraceful actions and horrifying images emerging over the weekend in Charlottesville have appalled people across the globe. Similarly, the message of white supremacists who gathered in Seattle yesterday has dismayed and horrified decent people across Washington State.

There is no place for bigotry, racism, neo-Nazis, and white supremacists in our county and our nation.

These actions are contrary to the very fabric that unites our communities across King County. This Council is as committed as ever to fighting this hatred and working toward making this county a model for equity and social justice.
