King County Regional Office of Gun Violence Awareness Events

In recognition of National Gun Violence Awareness Day on Friday, June 5, 2026, the King County Regional Office of Gun Violence Prevention, Regional Peacekeepers Collective, Alliance for Gun Responsibility, and King County municipal partners are hosting free gun lockbox giveaways at eight locations across King County to raise awareness and provide useful resources to communities.
Each event will feature remarks from community safety experts and local government leaders, gun safety education, and free gun lockbox giveaways. These events are free and open to all, and lockboxes will be distributed while supplies last.

White Center

Everyone has a role in preventing violence in their communities, and a simple yet powerful step is locking up your firearms. Safe firearm storage is the best way to reduce the risk of unintentional shootings and injury and prevent firearms from being stolen and misused by others.
