Types of passes
A reusable transit card used to pay fares on Metro buses and other participating transit agencies in the Puget Sound region.
How it works
Add E-purse value or a pass to an ORCA card, then tap the card when you board. ORCA cards can also be used to transfer between participating transit agencies.
Adult, youth, senior, disability, Medicare, ORCA LIFT and subsidized annual passes all use ORCA cards or ORCA card accounts.
E-purse is stored transit value on your ORCA card that works like a prepaid transit wallet. Money is automatically deducted each time you tap to ride.
How it works
- Add between $5 and $400 to your ORCA card.
- Your fare is automatically deducted each time you tap.
- If a pass does not cover your full fare, E-purse funds automatically pay the remaining amount.
How to add money
- Online at myORCA.com
- At ORCA vending machines
- At an ORCA customer service office
- Or call 206-553-3000
Enjoy unlimited rides for one service day on the region's transit services with the ORCA regional day pass. The pass covers adult fares up to $3.00, or reduced fares up to $1.00, when loaded on an ORCA card.
How it works
- Starts with first use.
- Ends at 3 am the next day.
- Not available for Autoload.
Where you can use it
- Valid on regular service on buses, trains, streetcars and water taxis throughout the Central Puget Sound region.
- Not valid on King County Metro Access, paratransit services, Kitsap Fast Ferries or Washington State Ferries.
Fare coverage
- Adult fares up to $3.00
- RRFP fares up to $1.00
- ORCA LIFT fares up to $1.00
Important
If your regional day pass does not cover your full transit fare, you need to pay the difference with your ORCA card’s E-purse funds. On a bus, fare differences cannot be paid with cash.
Where to buy
- ORCA vending machines
- Online at myORCA.com
- The MyORCA app for iPhone or Android
