Report examples

The following are examples of when you should call the Sheriff’s Office to file your report and when you may file your report online.

What to file online (if suspect info unknown): 

NOTE: by selecting your report type you are acknowledging you understand that filing a false police report is a crime.

  • Theft of property taken from a vehicle parked in a public access area (not in a garage, for example)

  • Theft of property from a house by a guest or someone invited in (laborer, salesperson, etc.)
  • Theft of property from a hotel room by an authorized occupant (maid, hotel guest, etc.) 
  • Theft of a purse from shopping cart in a store

  • Theft of a purse from a shopping cart in a parking lot
  • Theft of property from a fenced area used for business or residential purposes
  • Theft of a bike or other property from your yard or other outdoor area
  • Theft of property from a partially constructed house, where the windows and doors are not installed
