Hearing from the community on the future of the Eastside Rail Corridor

Several ways to comment on draft plan

The draft plans for the regional Eastside Rail Corridor (ERC), the 42-mile corridor that extends from Renton to Snohomish, were announced today and are now available for public comment. This is a major step for the project and will provide unique recreational opportunities for the residents of King County, including the City of Renton.

“If you would like to take part in the planning process for the Eastside Rail Corridor now is the time to let your voice be heard,” said Council Vice Chair Reagan Dunn, who represents parts of Renton on the County Council. “This trail, including the section that runs through the City of Renton will be an important asset to the resident of the city and surrounding area. Adding your comments to the conversation will help make the trail reflect the wishes of the community it will serve.”

The governments and agencies that control the ERC have worked together as the Eastside Rail Corridor Regional Advisory Council to outline the future of the corridor and to explore transportation options and recreational opportunities across the East and South King County cities that are part of the ERC. Today’s release of the draft is the public’s first opportunity to comment on their vision of this multimodal corridor. There are several ways to add your input. You can either attend an open house in your area or directly submit your comments online, through email, or by mail.
