Step-Up is a nationally recognized adolescent family violence intervention program designed to address youth violence toward family members. Violent behavior includes threats, intimidation, property destruction, degrading language and physical violence. The goal of Step-Up is for youth to stop violence and abuse toward their family and develop respectful family relationships so that all family members feel safe at home.

Mission Statement

Step-Up believes respect is at the heart of all healthy family relationships. Step-Up helps youth and parents build respectful relationships where all family members feel safe and valued.

To achieve this mission, we provide:

• A skills based and restorative practice group intervention for youth and their parents/caretakers that focuses on non-violence and respect between family members. The program includes a youth group, parent group, and multi-family group with youth and parents together.
• Services to youth and families in the Family Intervention and Restorative Services program at King County Juvenile Court, including: family violence assessments, safety planning, restorative process and assessment of youth/family service needs. 
• Community education about adolescent domestic violence with family members.
