Training and Exercises
Overview
Washington State Homeland Security Region 6 is defined as the geographical boundaries of King County. Region 6 receives funds to address local terrorism planning, mitigation, response, and recovery issues through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security via Washington state. An element of this grant funding is dedicated to the training and exercising of local responders. King County Emergency Management, the local Homeland Security grant managing agency, is tasked with the equitable and appropriate distribution of these funds.
Training to learn FEMA's Incident Command System (ICS) is available online and/or through classroom instruction. (Current lists of classroom sessions are available from the State of Washington and FEMA.) For other training and exercise questions, please contact Eric O'Brien at 206-205-4072.
