Community preparedness
Emergency preparedness activities are not limited to individual households and businesses. Schools, faith-based organizations, and volunteer groups also play an important role in building disaster-resilient communities by sharing information and resources, and providing training and volunteer opportunities to local community members.
King County values and supports diverse cultures, languages, and neighborhoods. Want to share preparedness information with your neighbors who don't speak English as their first language? Following are resources to help everyone in your community stay safe and informed.
- Translation services - American Red Cross provides translation and interpretation services for non-profit partners.
- Emergency preparedness fact sheets - Washington State Department of Public Health has produced health and natural disaster fact sheets in multiple languages.
