The Preparedness Section is responsible for maintaining emergency response plans to direct, coordinate, and mobilize health and medical resources, information, and personnel during emergencies and disasters. We also rely on other preparedness professionals and organizations, including the Northwest Healthcare Response Network (NWHRN) and city and county emergency managers.

- Northwest Healthcare Response Network
The Northwest Healthcare Response Network is a coalition of healthcare organizations working together to strengthen healthcare emergency preparedness and response capabilities in the Puget Sound through collaborative planning, training and exercise programs.
- Private Medication Center Partnership
Medication centers are locations where medications from the federal Strategic National Stockpile can be provided to affected persons during a medical emergency, such as a disease outbreak or terrorist attack. By becoming a Private Medication Center, you will receive and dispense medications from the federal stockpile directly to your employees and their families.
