King County International Airport-Boeing Field (KCIA) is a part of multiple vibrant communities surrounding the airport including neighborhoods like Georgetown, Beacon Hill, South Park, and Allentown, as well as culturally and economically diverse communities.
As such a large part of these neighborhoods, we are looking to include community members in the planning and design of projects at the airport. Learn more about these opportunities below. You can also contact us at KCIACommunityOutreach@kingcounty.gov. To be informed of future projects that will have community working groups, sign up here.
Current opportunities
KCIA is developing an air monitoring plan and installing upgraded noise monitoring equipment, with input from the community on siting of the monitors. Read the Air Monitoring project summary and the Noise Monitoring project summary for more information on this project. You can read the Phase 1 group charter here. The survey closed on May 27. Here are results of the survey. Community WorkshopThe airport hosted a community workshop on May 17, 2022 to discuss the air monitoring and landscape plan projects. Vision 2045
Starting this spring and summer, King County International Airport (KCIA) will be working with the community on Vision 2045 (FAA Master Plan), a long-range plan that will help us become a world-class airport. The completed plan will include a noise study and will tell us which construction projects, infrastructure, and other updates to prioritize and fund in the coming decades.
