Planned runway closures in October and November

Runway 14R/32L at King County International Airport-Boeing Field will be closed overnight on several dates during October and November.

Story

Runway 14R/32L, the primary runway, will close for several nights in late October and early November due to construction. During the closures, the secondary runway will remain open. Dates and times of the closures, with reopening times the following day (all times are in local Pacific time):

  • Thursday, October 26, 9:45 p.m. - 3:15 a.m.
  • Friday, October 27, 9:45 p.m. - 5 a.m.
  • Saturday, October 28, 9:45 p.m. - 7 a.m.
  • Sunday, October 29, 9:45 p.m. - 5 a.m.
  • Thursday, November 2, 9:45 p.m. - 3:15 a.m.
  • Friday, November 3, 9:45 p.m. - 5 a.m.
  • Saturday, November 4, 9:45 p.m. - 7 a.m.
  • Sunday, November 5, 9:45 p.m. - 5 a.m.

The closures are necessary for work related to the Electrical Line Distribution (ELD) project. The Federal Aviation Administration is updating electrical distribution lines. The ELD project began in mid-September and will continue through February 2024.
