Subject: Districting Master Proposed Districting Plan (attached)

Dear King County Districting Committee Members:

As you know, King County Charter Section 650.30.30 specifies that the Districting Master is to submit to the Districting Committee a districting plan for adoption by the Committee, with or without amendment. In accordance with that Charter section, I hereby submit, for your consideration, the attached districting plan for King County.

The Committee has scheduled its public hearing on the the enclosed plan for November 1st at 6:30 p.m. in the King County Council Chambers, on the 10th floor of the King County Courthouse. The Committee will consider adoption of districting plan, with or without amendment, on Wednesday, November the 9th at its 9 a.m. meeting in the Chinook Building. I will be present at both the November 1st public hearing and the November 9th meeting to answer any questions you may have and to obtain direction for finalizing your adopted districting plan.

After the Committee adopt a districting plan, the Charter indicates that the plan is to be submitted by the Committee to the Clerk of the County Council. The transmitted plan then becomes effective upon filing.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

John Schlosser
2011 King County Districting Master
