Location and directions

With restrictions about COVID-19 rapidly changing, please check with individual departments to be sure a building is open before you seek in-person service. Also, some downtown buildings are not open to the public due to a project to close the Administration Building and relocate the agencies affected. This project will continue until early 2023.

    From the south Chinook Office Building, downtown Seattle

    1. Take I-5 Northbound
    2. Take exit 164A, following signs to James Street.
    3. Take James Street exit
    4. Turn left on James Street
    5. Turn left on Fifth Avenue
    6. Arrive at 401 Fifth Ave. (Chinook Building)

    From the north

    1. Take I-5 Southbound
    2. Take exit 165A toward James Street
    3. Continue on 6th Avenue
    4. Turn right on James Street
    5. Turn left at Fifth Avenue
    6. Arrive at 401 Fifth Ave. (Chinook Building)

    From I-90 west

    1. Take I-90 Westbound
    2. Take exit 2C right, I-5 Northbound
    3. Take exit 165A toward James Street
    4. Continue on 6th Avenue
    5. Turn right on James Street
    6. Turn left at Fifth Avenue
    7. Arrive at 401 Fifth Ave. (Chinook Building)

    Chinook Building parking options

    1. Goat Hill parking garage (entrance on Jefferson Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues; street address is 415 Sixth Ave.; call 206-652-0849 for pricing (across the street from Chinook Building). King County employees receive discounted parking here.
    2. Seattle Public Library parking garage (entrance on Spring Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues; street address is 1000 Fourth Ave.; call 206-267-0446 for pricing
    3. Lots to north, south of parking garage.
