Review and comment on a proposal to make recycling, waste reduction services more convenient in northeast King County
A draft environmental impact statement is now available for review for a new state-of-the-art recycling and transfer station in northeast King County. The new King County Solid Waste Division facility will offer major improvements over the current station, including expanded recycling services, and compaction equipment to reduce traffic.


A pathway to zero waste: King County explores innovative technologies to meet waste reduction goals
King County is investigating a new technology, called mixed waste processing, that can capture and divert valuable resources from the stuff that does end up in the garbage bin.


King County Green Schools Program recognizes 67 schools, two school districts, and 88 student Green Teams for resource conservation efforts
Led by the County's Solid Waste Division, the Green Schools Program helps King County schools and school districts to start and improve sustainable practices. Program guidance focuses on resource conservation, environmental justice, and waste prevention and collection of recyclable materials and organics.
