What you'll need
When you are registering, you will need:- Your ID
- The date and place of your conviction
- The offense for which you were convicted
Hours Of Operation
The hours of operation for in-person offender registrations (in the courthouse) are:
Tuesdays and Thursdays:
8:00 am – 11:30 am
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Last registration will be taken at 3:30 pm
Closed Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays
Note: Closed Holidays
The King County Courthouse is located at 516 Third Avenue (at the corner of Third & James Street) in downtown Seattle.
Registration takes approximately 30 minutes. At this time, you will be fingerprinted and photographed. Please note, wait times may vary depending on the volume of requests for Records Unit Services.

2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
The Administration Building window is closed Fridays.
Note: Closed Holidays.
The King County Administration Building is located at 500 Fourth Avenue (go to 2nd Floor of the building) in downtown Seattle, on James Street (north side of the building).
Notifying Us of a Move
Once you have registered with us (or re-registered upon moving back into King County) you need to keep us informed if you move. You can notify us in person or in writing at the following address:

If you move outside of King County, please notify us in writing. You will also need to register in person at the sheriff's office in the county to which you move.
Note: All changes of address submitted by mail must by submitted by certified mail, return receipt requested.
