Story

King County International Airport (KCIA) seeks feedback on two initiatives under development: an air monitoring plan and a landscape plan. The air monitoring plan will determine the type and location for air monitors at the airport. The landscape plan will identify what plants to use at the airport.

KCIA is developing an air monitoring plan that aligns with the King County Strategic Climate Action Plan (SCAP) guidance and actions while maintaining Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements. In addition, KCIA is also developing the airport landscape plan which incorporates climate change-focused sustainability principles such as Green Maintenance and removing carbon dioxide from the air. Step 1 for both plans included data research and review and community working group input and review.
