Starting November 1, 2021, the Brightwater Center will re-open with rental events offered. The Wastewater Treatment Division Education Team will be providing limited programming at school sites and online; we are not currently offering tours at King County facilities. Vaccination Requirements: Effective October 25th, those ages 12 and older will need to show proof of Covid vaccination or a negative test to enter Brightwater Center.
What can be used as proof of vaccination?
- CDC vaccination card or photo of vaccine card.
- Documented proof of vaccination from medical record or vaccine provider.
- Printed certificate or QR code from MyIRMobile.com .
- You do not need to show identification with proof of vaccination.
Options for people who are unvaccinated or unable to prove vaccine status
People who are unvaccinated or cannot prove vaccination status will be required to show proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test from a testing provider in the last 72 hours.
Mask Requirements: Washington state requires that everyone ages 5+ wear masks in public indoor spaces and at outdoor events with 500 or more people, regardless of vaccination status. For more information, please see our Current COVID-19 guidance page.
The Education and Community Center at the Brightwater Clean-Water Treatment Facility is a clean water interpretive facility provided to educate and motivate the public to environmental stewardship and build community.
The grounds are open dawn to dusk daily.
