Definition of an “authorized representative”

An “authorized representative” is a person who performs policy or decision-making functions for an organization, such as a president, secretary, treasurer, vice president, general partner, director or highest official designated to oversee the operation. Specific details are available on the Delegation of Signatory Authority form.

Delegating signature authority

The “authorized representative” can delegate signature authority to another person. It must be done in writing, using the Delegation of Signatory Authority form. Both the authorized representative and the delegated representative must sign the form. Once the form is on file, the delegated representative is able to sign future paperwork.
