Contact an adult in jail by phone

A person in custody may call you using our telephone service.

Please be advised that phone calls are monitored and recorded. Calls with lawyers or members of their defense team are not recorded, provided that they have registered their phone number on our “Do Not Record” list.

Incoming calls to adults in custody are not allowed at either of our jails.

King County uses Securus Technologies to operate our telephone service. Adults in jail may make 2 free phone calls per week. They can place more calls for 5 cents per minute, which you can pay with a Securus account or by adding money to the person in custody's account through Access Corrections.

For more information about Securus Technologies, visit their website or call 1-800-844-6591. Customers with disabilities or needing TTY support should call 1-877-710-1118.

Attorneys can register their phone number, or the phone number of a member of their defense team, on the “Do Not Record” list by sending a request to DoNotRecordListDAJD@kingcounty.gov and including the following information:

  • Name
  • Title
  • Organization
  • Professional Phone Number
  • Professional Email Address
  • Washington State Bar Association Card Number
