COVID-19 NOTICE

We are taking emergency measures to protect individuals in custody. Our protocol is based on federal health and King County Public Health guidelines.  Visit our COVID-19 page for more information. 

 King County operates two adult detention facilities:

  • King County Correctional Facility (KCCF)

The King County Correctional Facility is located in Seattle, and opened in 1986.

  • Maleng Regional Justice Center (MRJC)

The King County Maleng Regional Justice Center is located in Kent, and opened in 1997.

Directions to the King County Correctional Facility (KCCF)

The facility entrance is at the northwest corner of Fifth Avenue and James Street. A variety of public parking facilities are available nearby. The address is: 500 Fifth Ave., Seattle, WA 98104

From north of downtown Seattle:

  • Take I-5 Southbound to the James Street exit;
  • Turn right on James Street; turn left on 5th Avenue.

From south of downtown Seattle:

  • Take I-5 Northbound to the James Street exit;
  • Turn left on James Street;
  • Turn left on 5th Avenue.

Directions to the Maleng Regional Justice Center (MRJC)

The address is: 620 West James Street, Kent, WA 98032.

From downtown Seattle:

  • Take I-5 Southbound to the Kent/Des Moines exit;
  • Turn left off the exit and drive down the hill into Kent. You will be on Highway 516;
  • Stay on Highway 516 to Fourth Avenue;
  • Turn left on Fourth Avenue and drive about one mile to James Street;
  • Turn left on James Street;
  • Take the next left and enter the parking garage.

From Highway 167:

  • Take the Willis Street exit and drive east to Fourth Avenue;
  • Turn left on Fourth Avenue and drive about one mile to James Street;
  • Turn left on James Street;
  • Take the next left and enter the parking garage.
