Visit an adult in jail

You can visit adults in custody at the King County Correctional Facility (KCCF) in Seattle and the Maleng Regional Justice Center (MRJC) in Kent.

Limited in-person visitation is available at both jails. Schedules and some visitation rules are specific to each jail.

Things to know before you visit

Visitors must have valid government-issued picture identification.

Visitors must wear appropriate attire and must wear shoes at all times.

The following dress code shall be followed:

  • No miniskirts or similar attire.
  • No low-cut or revealing necklines.
  • No bare midriff.
  • No exposed undergarments.

Visit an adult in Seattle at the King County Correctional Facility (KCCF)

In-person visits are available for people housed at the King County Correctional Facility. Copies of the visitation schedule are posted in each housing unit. 

  • There is a 1-hour visit period each week.
  • Visiting times are based on housing location.
  • Jail staff admit visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Visitors should check in with jail reception 15 minutes before they hope to visit.
  • There are no restrictions on professional visitors. 
  • Up to 4 visitors at the same time. One must be an adult.
  • Visitors under the age of 18 must be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times.

Visit an adult in Kent at the Maleng Regional Justice Center (MRJC)

Visitation at the MRJC is open Monday through Friday, from 2:30 pm to 9 pm. Effective March 13, 2024, visitation is closed each day between 5:15 pm and 7 pm. 

  • Each person in custody at the Maleng Regional Justice Center is allowed 2 window visits per week.
  • There are no restrictions on professional visitors.
  • Visitation days are based on their housing unit. To learn the assigned visitation times for the person you plan to visit, call 206-296-1234.
  • Visiting booths are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You do not need to schedule a visit in advance.
  • Up to 3 visitors allowed at the same time. One must be an adult. (If the visit is for a marriage ceremony, up to 4 visitors are allowed).
  • Visitors under the age of 18 must be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times.

 Please be advised that there may be a wait. Arriving early is recommended. Visitors will not be processed after 8:30 pm.
