Starting November 1, King County Metro will offer reserved parking for carpoolers at nine additional park-and-rides, including Green Lake, Aurora Village, Shoreline, Kenmore, Bear Creek, Bothell, Kingsgate, Wilburton, Renton Metropolitan Place, and Tukwila. To access reserved parking, customers must first obtain a free Carpool Parking Permit.

The King County Water Taxi will suspend all service for up to one week starting Monday, Aug. 7 as the downtown Seattle terminal is relocated to accommodate construction of a new terminal.

Sound Transit, Metro to run late night service for July 4 revelers
For the first time since light rail began operating service, revelers celebrating Independence Day this year will be able to ride Link trains until 2 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5—an hour later than normal. For bus riders, King County Metro will deploy more than 40 extra buses from 10:30 p.m. to midnight on routes serving Seattle Center, Gas Works Park, downtown and light rail stations to help crowds get home.

Tolt Hill Bridge Emergency Closure
King County Road Services has scheduled an emergency closure of Tolt Hill Bridge 1834A where Northeast Tolt Hill Road crosses the Snoqualmie River, west of the City of Carnation. Tolt Hill Bridge 1834A will fully close to traffic starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 16. Detours will be in place for travelers.

A new partnership between King County Metro and Diamond Parking Services aims to increase park-and-ride options for people connecting to transit. The pilot project and its website, Parkbytransit.com, connect people with fee-based parking on commercial and residential properties near major bus routes. Spaces will be available June 1 but customers can apply for permits starting today.

Major transit delays, reroutes expected in Seattle on May Day
Transit riders should prepare for significant traffic delays and rerouted buses in downtown Seattle on Monday, May 1, especially during the afternoon and evening commute, as dozens of Metro and Sound Transit routes will be temporarily rerouted or intermittently delayed during May Day events. Seattle First Hill and South Lake Union streetcar service also will be affected on May 1 as a result of planned marches.

More trips, better reliability: Metro Transit adding bus service March 11
King County Metro launches another round of service improvements March 11, adding trips and improving reliability on more than 80 routes. The changes affect about one-third of Metro’s bus routes at a time when the Seattle metro area leads the nation in record high ridership growth and King County has budgeted service expansion in 2017 and 2018.
